frame make it so i can not get direct access to the black knob in the rear of the light.Have a 1997 Chevy Malibu, can someone please tell me how to change the headlights.?
When you look down from top where the headlight is when hoods popped -
there should be a plastic cover with (2) Push pins holding it in place remove push pins which will then remove plastic cover (claw end of hammer slow and steady can be used for ease of removal)
once covers removed there will be exposed (2) Tower clips which slide grip the top and pop them up (about 1/4 of an inch) at this point headlight assembly is completely free of chassis and should now have access to the rear of the assembly/Lamps with a 1/4 in turn the lamps will detach from the housing and allow you to easly change them out.Have a 1997 Chevy Malibu, can someone please tell me how to change the headlights.?
If you have the plastic cover over the headlights (which you should have) it is easily removed by remove the seven or so push-in retainers holding it in place. Then you will see two nylon retainers that you just lift up and it releases the headlamp assembly. Then wiggle it out. hope this helps.
