Its very fiddly to get into the back of the headlights you just have to have very nimble fingers to get the bulbs in.I had the 95 lx and it took a while but you will get there.It may sound daft but if you get a torch and shine it into the headlight you can see what your doing with the bulb and what way it needs to go.Taking the bumper off is only for replacing the headlights themselves or if you need to replace the lenses that you see going yellow and giving you poor visibility.How do you change the headlight bulb 1996 Mondeo LX .?

If its just a bulb your changing and not the headlight unit,then theres a plastic cover at the back which is tight but does come off if youve strong fingers?once you can see inside, you may need to use a smal mirror to see ,depending on which lamp your working on,(the one s nearest the wings are the dipped beams)pull off the wiring connection,look for a kind of wire that holds the bulb in.release that and the bulb will come out,but watch the shape of the bulb base as it has to go back the very same way!good luck!How do you change the headlight bulb 1996 Mondeo LX .?
It shouldn't be that tricky, there should be an access panel from under the bonnet or maybe an access panel in the wheelarch.
The lights will be housed in a plastic cover.
The bulb should screw out with a quarter turn and a pull.
