I have a 2003 GTI...how the heck to I change a burnt out headlight bulb?? I have the bulb, but figured I could just pop the old one out and replace it with the new one..but it looks like it isn't that easy! Help! Its the drivers side.How to change my headlight bulb?
Its not hard. Look at the passenger side light. You will see to metal clips holding the back cover to the headlight on. Once you pop those off you take the back cover off and take the light out that needs to be replaced. On the drivers side just take the battery cover off and you should have just enough room to get to itHow to change my headlight bulb?
I'd suggest a Haynes manual (available at auto parts stores)

You might find it in the acr's owener's manual.

Basically you have to find the back of the headlamp assembly and then turn the part where the wire goes in CCW a little bit and pull the bulb out.

Sometimes the whole lamp socket turns, sometimes it's a dollar, but essentially it's a bayonet mount like a camera lens.

Clean the new bulb with alcohol and do not touch it - the oil from your finger will contaminate the glass and cause premature failure.How to change my headlight bulb?
VW are always fairly easy to do routine fixes on.

%26quot;It's very easy to change the headlight bulbs. They just twist about 45

degrees and pull out. Disconnect the connector first. Don't touch the glass

on the bulbs and be sure to clean the new ones with alcohol just in case

someone else did. The high's are 9005 and the lows are 9006 (i think). PIAA

is in the process of making their superwhite bulbs in these sizes. They

should be available in 100 watt ratings which our cars will handle without a

problem. Each bulb has its own circuit and fuse and the current draw is

within limits of the wire size.%26quot;

Found this online, hope it helps.
