I think I got one loose with pliers and had to leave the other fastened. They are so tight it isn't funny. I also had to wrestle with the twist fastening on the bulb sockets, using a screwdriver to pry the thing along at first. Silicone spray helped a bit there but the whole procedure was a nightmare.
